One of the biggest causes of customer abandonment for online registration is caused by the requirement to confirm a customers identity documents. Some companies have up to 80% abandonment rates when the customer is requested to send in their photocopied images of their driving licence or passport.
The solution as part of the KYC process is to use a camera enabled device to upload the image of the document to be verified. The software then in real time, determines if the document is real, the fonts have not been tampered with and the data grabbed (OCR) is added to the customers data file.
One of the most significant advantages of using document verification is the ability to let the customer do it in real time as part of the KYC process. Within 30 seconds the customers document has been uploaded to your server, processed and a response dispatched.
This can be done either as part of the KYC process on a mobile device or it can be confirmed via a video chat. In the video chat scenario, the customer will be chatting with an agent who asks to either confirm visually that the ID document matches by getting the customer to show the docuemt to the web cam, or requests that the customer attaches a scanned in image of it during the chat. If the customer does not have a scanned image, then the agent can send a request to the customers phone to upload an image via an app whilst live in the conversation.
In addition to checking the printed details, it is also possible to compare the image on the document with the face captured via our face recognition software. The facial image on the document is processed in the same way as the data, however it is then compared to the image from the face recongiton and scored as a likely percentage match.
The software is able to process over 3,500 different documents from around the world. If for any reason the document that you need to check is not on our database we can create a template for you and add it to the database.
